I had the opportunity to create a cover illustration for the French magazine S!CK, inspired by their feature on Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke. The artwork explores the film’s deep connection to nature, its raw depiction of humanity’s clash with the environment, and the powerful, complex character of San. My goal was to reflect the ethereal beauty and underlying tension that define both Princess Mononoke and Ghibli’s broader legacy, while aligning with S!CK’s bold, cinematic aesthetic.
For the special collector’s edition of S!CK Magazine dedicated to Alan Wake, I created an original wraparound cover blending dark folklore and psychological thriller aesthetics. The glowing-eyed deer represents both the haunting atmosphere of the game and the twisted symbolism of the Pacific Northwest setting. I combined bold line work, saturated contrast, and hidden typography to reflect the surreal narrative layers. This limited edition featured custom metallic red ink elements and was designed to capture the eerie, mythic tone of Alan Wake while standing out on shelves.
